In 2019 Chubby Charles gathered the best musicians the UK hardcore scene had to offer and together they formed their one of a kind pub rock/punk band Chubby and the Gang.
After the release of their first album Speed Kills (Static Shock) got heaps of positive feedback, they were ready to hit the road and perform in front crowds all around Europe. Unfortunately, shortly after the release of their debut album, COVID showed its ugly pointy face to the world - but that didn't knock out Chubby and the Gang - on the contrary, they spend lots of time in the studio, where their second album The Mutt's Nuts (Partisan) came to life.
FINALLY the world is starting to open up again, and the band has now been on their long awaited european tour with the witty techno connoisseur Romeo Taylor as a companion in the van and a perfect warm up on stage.
On April 15 they passed through Copenhagen to give everyone at the legendary venue Loppen a night to remember. Both Chubby and the Gang and Romeo Taylor had an undeniable connection to their crowd. The same amount of high energy was bouncing back and forth from stage to the floor, despite two very different musical styles. Which somehow seemed amazingly meant to be.

MUSIC
The musical style of Chubby and the Gang is loud, fast and straight to the point. Their high tempos and hook driven style fits perfectly with people who appreciate the atmosphere and sound of old school punk rock. The music you'd link with bands who performed at the historic venue CBGB - where Chubby and the Gang surly would have been on the bill.
Their music has been described as pub rock:
"For me pub rock is like before glam and all that turned into punk. There was a pub rock bit in between around mid 70’s to 80’s where loads of stuff were really agro like stripped back, playing in the bak of a pub type of thing. To me music is not a binary thing, it’s a gradient. You can draw the line from rhythm and blues and straight to punk . Ramones where covering all sorts of crazy shit from the 50’s. You CAN draw that line. We wanna keep drawing that line"
