Rory Wilf Lampitt is a Melbourne based singer/songwriter who goes by his new professional alias; Wilf Jones.

He discovered his love for music at the age of six when he got his first guitar, and has since then performed in many of the distinctive venues Australia has to offer. As a teenager in the year of 2004 he embarked on his musical performing career in a band called Peyote. Three years further down the line he became the lead guitarist of Priory Dolls, after which he moved on with the band Warmth Crashes In as the leadsinger and guitarist in 2012.

 

Rory has decided to take a different path in his musical career by going solo under the name Wilf Jones. He plays all instruments himself when recording, however while performing on stage his friend Tyson Slithers plays bass. Rory says that he enjoys the freedom of not having to compromise with other band members at the moment, but dreams of having a big band with backup singers sometime in the not so distant future.

He had a gig coming up on May 14th as Wilf Jones in Melbourne, but unfortunately the COVID-19 outbreak put a hold on that. Hopefully the venues in Melbourne will allow some gigs soon, so the locals can get a chance to se him back on stage!
